1k Makerspace
The 1k Makerspace in the Future Learning Lab Vienna offers a great opportunity to learn by attending special workshops or simply by trying things out and working on own projects – always under the watchful eye of experts, who are on hand to explain the handling of the equipment within the process. Thus participants can learn or teach about current production and manufacturing technologies as well as the basic digital skills of new Industry 4.0 professions. Innovative technologies, an understanding of the digital world, and creative problem-solving skills are certainly all part of it.
1k (=1000 €) Makerspaces consist of 3D printers, 3D pens, vinyl cutters and laser cutters. They are controlled by RasperryPi computers and can be used primarily in the workshops of our schools without any additional conversion work.
The aims of this project are above all the promotion of pupils at disadvantaged hot spots as well as gender mainstreaming. The project focuses on the problem of interfaces in the transition from elementary school to secondary school as well as the preparation for professional life in industry 4.0.
